FAQs

  • The Foundation believes that all young people should be able to participate in sports, regardless of their family income. The Foundation is starting this bursary program to enable youth who would not otherwise be able to participate in alpine skiing to receive funding so they can participate with their peers in training, alpine ski events and in respect of the purchase of equipment and rehabilitation.

  • Beneficiaries will be permitted to apply for the Bursaries throughout the year, but the selection of recipients will take place annually.  The selection of bursary recipients will be made by a committee of the Foundation’s volunteer Board of Directors.  Applicants that demonstrate the greatest financial need will be prioritized to receive bursaries and funding.

  • Contribute financially through direct donations, sponsorships, or fundraising events such as  Golf event , Ski-race event , galas, BBQs, and Actions. These funds help cover Bursary’s costs, equipment, camps and fees for young athletes.

  • This bursary will be given to young Canadian athletes who are (a) involved in alpine skiing; and (b) who have demonstrated financial need and have shown sportsmanship and leadership in alpine skiing.  Applications must be accompanied by recommendation from a coach or other ski club representative.  Priority will be given to athletes at the U12 – U18 level.  If no eligible applications are received from athletes at the U12-U18 level, athletes between 14 and 21 will be considered.

  • Without financial support, many skilled young athletes from middle- or lower-income families could never afford to participate in ski racing consistently, limiting the overall talent pool and future national competitiveness. Financial assistance programs help broaden access to ski racing for underrepresented groups, fostering a more inclusive sport and helping discover “hidden” talent that otherwise would not emerge.
